For increased sales and new customer acquisition, eBay and Amazon stores perform!

Marketplace Commissions Comparison

The chart below was compiled on 11/9/2013. It compares the basic commissions & fees charged by the major online ecommerce marketplaces. These fees will apply to most sellers on Amazon, eBay,, Newegg, Rakuten, etc. Note however, that it's not a comprehensive listing. For example, if you sell on Amazon and use their FBA program, I don't include those fees here. Sears, Rakuten, and Newegg also have their own 3rd-party fulfillment operations; these can be a great option for many sellers, but not everyone, especially if you have very low margin, or very large/heavy products.

Links below the chart are provided so you can find more information.

Lastly, if you're interested in learning more, or opening an ecommerce marketplace store, I can help you create accurate financial models to help you understand and forecast your particular profit model.

Marketplace Selling Fee Links

In-depth information about each marketplace's fees can be found using the links below. The exceptions are Best Buy and OneStopPlus, which do not publish their fees on their websites. Makes you wonder what they're afraid of!

Amazon had shut down our store, and eBay was sending us warnings. With Rick's help, we got the store re-opened; improved our listings and our seller ratings on both sites. We engaged in the Amazon FBA program. We made a lot of changes. Rick taught us a lot about how to run a profitable business on both Amazon and eBay, and our sales increased dramatically.

At JTV, we were looking for ways to acquire more new customers. Rick helped us launch a new eBay store as a "proof-of-concept." It worked. The majority of our eBay customers had never purchased from us before, and some of the subsequently purchased from our main website, Rick then helped us launch a partnership with Channel Advisor, and we're looking to grow this business even more.
